For our joint webinar 'Complementary microelectronics hardware concepts: FirstTo6G and 6G-REFERENCE' taking place on 29 Jan 2026, 11.00-12.30 CET, the full programme is now available on our dedicated event page and we invite you all to join us and register.
You'll learn about the two projects, their goals and achievements so far as well as technical details regarding the 'Time modulated transmit & receive array' by 6G-REFERENCE and '6G-enabling data converters' by FirstTo6G.
See you all there!
Save the date for our joint webinar with the SNS project 6G-REFERENCE taking place online on 29 Jan 2026 from 11.00 to 12.30 CET.
Under the title 'Complementary microelectronics hardware concepts: FirstTo6G and 6G-REFERENCE' we will present both projects, their objectives and their complementary microelectronics hardware concepts. The project presentations will be followed by an open discussion on our approaches and the synergies between these two SNS projects and possibly others.
We are pleased to kick-off this collaboration with 6G-REFERENCE as our research is complementary and we share the same SNSJU stream: “B-01-05: Microelectronics-based Solutions for 6GNetworks”.
Registration is open. More info about the agenda and speakers will come soon!
We have just returned from our third consortium meeting, which was held in Athens and kindly organised by our partner ArgoSemi. We took the time to discuss in detail our initial tape-outs and plans for our overall system and schedule. We also had the opportunity to visit ArgoSemi's laboratories and discuss the next steps in small groups. Our host's Greek hospitality was fantastic, allowing us to visit the Acropolis, the seaside and the Temple of Poseidon, and enjoy delicious cuisine.

We’re proud to announce the successful submission of the first tapeout in our project — a significant and exciting milestone in our journey toward cutting-edge innovation!
This achievement is the result of exceptional collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous communication between all project partners.
In this highly integrated tapeout:
InCirT contributed their flagship data converters, integrated with a JESD204B standard-compliant high-speed interface.
Argo Semiconductors delivered critical components including mixers, power management, and RF front-end modules.
Sivers Semiconductors added their wideband front-end components for both the receiver and transmitter chains.
The tapeout was submitted to GlobalFoundries on their 22nm FDX technology — a platform that enables both high performance and efficient integration.
This milestone underscores the strength of our partnership and the deep technical expertise brought together across organizations. We’re excited about what lies ahead and are looking forward to the upcoming measurements and validation of the IPs.
A big thank you to all the teams involved. Onward and upward!

MWC2025 was a great success for FirstTo6G and our partners from InCirT, ArgoSemi and SIVERS enjoyed their time in Barcelona, benefiting from a wealth of contacts and information.
